  Work Experience

Mar 1999 SMEDA - Lahore. I am currently working with Small and Medium Enterprise Development Authority as a Business Counsellor - Light Engineering. SMEDA is a semi-government agency that develops comprehensive sectoral policies in order to increase the exports potential in that particular sector. In Light Engineering, I am working on the Bicycle Industry and after comprehensive and detailed studies, am in the process of developing a plan that will increase the exports in this sector.

1998-Mar 99 Paktel Ltd – Lahore. I was transferred as Sales Support Executive to further enhance inter departmental transactions. It was part of my daily routine to handle the dealer as well as sales staff and my duty to help process the sales both within as well as outside Lahore. I also had to compile reports regarding the daily sales figures.

1998 Paktel Ltd – Lahore. I joined Paktel as a Corporate Accounts Manager and it was my responsibility to look after the clientele and make sure that their problems got solved. This requires an in depth knowledge of the rules and regulations and an insight into the customer behavior.

1996 CITIBANK - Lahore. I worked with Citibank NA, Lahore Pakistan for one month as an internee. I worked in their Global Finance Department and was rotated in their Credit Department, Trade Services Unit, Treasury Operations and Cash Management Unit. I wanted to gain some experience into the business operations before my MBA and this gave me an insight into the workings of a major multinational bank.

1994-95 AT&T/NCR GIS - Dundee. I opted for the year out in industry and worked with AT&T/NCR at their Advance Mechatronics Research Centre at the University of Dundee. The work done included creating designs on a specific design package Pro-Engineer. This gave me a lot of experience and an insight into the operations of one of the world’s largest company.

1994 Market Research - Scotland. The work involved cold calling customer research, which requires a cheerful and positive attitude and the ability to take rejection. It also involves group communication and talking to people with different nature. This sort of work has made me more self-confident and enhanced my group communication skills.

My main extra curricular activities include playing different sports like cricket, football, riding and badminton. I played cricket in school as a member of my class team and represented them in different inter school tournaments. I was also a member in the five-a-side football team of my class at the University of Abertay.

I was an Executive Committee Member of the International Students Society at the University of Abertay for the session 93-94 and 95-96 and it was my responsibility to organise meetings and other events. I helped manage the Food Event for the Society by selling tickets.

I try to be up-to-date by reading newspapers and other books like the Guinness Book of Records. I also enjoy reading fiction. I am fond of stamp collecting, hill walking and tourism. I am a member of Royal Mail Collectors Club. I have been to many countries including USA, China, Kenya, France, Singapore and Greece on vacation.

I once played a major role in a school play.

I have a current Pakistani driving licence. I am very proficient in URDU and know the basics of FRENCH. I am proficient in PRO-ENGINEER due to my work experience with AT&T/NCR. I have fair bit of knowledge of AUTOCAD, QUATTROPRO, QBASIC, WINDOWS and MsOffice. My keyboard skill is 25-30 words per minute.

I came third in class 3, third in class 5 and first in class 8. I got an Academic House Badge during my two years at Aitchison College. I was the class as well as the school prefect during my school years.

I got 620(91.58%) marks in TOEFL(Test Of English as a Foreign Language) and 1110(69.38%) marks in SAT(Scholastic Aptitude Test).
